The Gen Z demographic — the population cohort born after millennials — has business and marketers scrambling to prepare as the group ages and begins to kill off many products and industries prior generations cherished.

Gen Z, generally those born after 1996, represents more than 20 percent of the U.S. population, and they don’t like a lot of traditional stuff, Bloomberg reports. More than 70 percent of them influence their families’ spending.
